My Thoughts:
Today, we come across more types of addictions than we used to. This is partly because of the new findings in science and partly because of our lifestyle. There’s an abundance of everything today, even an excess of many things. So we can get addicted not only to alcohol and drugs but also to food, shopping, gaming, social networks, and others.
The author informs us about different cases of addictions from her practice. Anna Lembke is a psychiatrist specializing in the addiction field. Dopamine Nation is a very interesting book, but it doesn’t cover everything I want to know concerning this theme.
