Excerpt from the Book:
Picture this: a vast grassy plain, dotted here and there with trees. A small herd of rhinos thunders by. An elephant trumpets in the distance. A long, giraffe-like neck streches into the branches of a tree. A herd of grazing mammals - are those zebras?-lift their heads, all of them suddenly nervous. And no wonder. An animal that looks a bit like a hyena rustles the grass nearby.
Where is this exotic location?
It must be Africa.
Or is it?
My Thoughts:
Who would have thought that rhinos once inhabited North America? But they did. Twelve million years ago. This is a story of finding the site in Nebraska, excavating the remains and studying what they found.
Rhinos in Nebraska is a nonfiction audiobook for all generations. In its essence, it is a middle-grade nonfiction, and it is suitable for ages 8+. But I would say, young and adults that are interested in paleontology will like it.
Narration was good, and I liked it. This was my third audiobook, and first nonfiction one, narrated by Mark Sanderlin.
